Erratum to Neutralization of Bothrops asper venom by antibodies, natural products and synthetic drugs: Contributions to understanding snakebite envenomings and their treatment [Toxicon 54, 7, (2009), 1012-1028]

In our recent article published in Toxicon (2009) vol. 54,1012–1028, our attention has been called concerning an ambiguous interpretation of the reference format utilized in Table 1 (Plant extracts with reported inhibitory activity for Bothrops asper venom or toxins). Specifically, the simplified format utilized in the ‘‘References’’ column, may lead to a misinterpretation in the large group of plant species studied in Colombia, reported in the articles by Otero et al. (2000a,b) and by Nuñez et al. (2004). Owing to the omission of a comma between the references of these two articles (during typesetting of the proofs), the reader may erroneously interpret that this group of plant extracts was studied only in the article by Nuñez et al. (2004). In order to clarify this issue, we hereby present Table 1 again, as a corrigendum, with a specific, line-by-line indication of references corresponding to each plant species. In addition, a minor correction is included in the venom activities inhibited by Senna dariensis and Citrus limon extracts.
