Cellulose acetate, carboxymethylcellulose and bencylcellulose were obtained from pulp and parchment cellulose as an alternative utilization of coffee bean wastes. The reaction yield of these products was similar to that of the commercial cellulose derivative, and in the case of parchment cellulose the yield results were higher. The derivate's properties were similar to those of the commercial ones.
