This is the first published record for Isthmohyla rivularis, a Critically Endangered species, within Juan Castro Blanco National Park, Alajuela, Costa Rica. The data presented here contribute to the increasing knowledge of a rare frog species long thought to be extinct after the amphibian declines during the late 1980s.
